  • Lookup tool for CEDICT Chinese-English dictionary

    Perl script cedictlookup, version 1.2.1-a.4 (originally by David Hiebeler) for doing Chinese vocabulary lookup (by Chinese, pinyin, or English) from CEDICT-format vocabulary files.
    Script modified to lookup the new CEDICT-format vocabulary files containing both traditional and simplified Chinese in UTF8 encoding.
    Converts cedict tone numbers in- and output to tone marks pinyin.
    New version using a configuration file for easy adaptation of the parameter values to your preference, now also English 'fast exact' and Chinese wildcard lookup.

  • Convert pinyin tone numbers to tone marks

    The perl script utf8ify_pinyin.pl converts anything that looks like ASCII pinyin with tone numbers at the end of the word into utf-8 with proper pinyin tone marks.
    Converts also compound (not separated) tone number pinyin and capitals.
    Can be used to convert CEDICT! New version: avoids converting some chemical formulas into pinyin.

    The free planetarium program HNSKY for Windows and Linux.
    Download the large basic package HNSKY Windows version, or HNSKY Linux version.

    HNSKY is a full feature planetarium. Free with 30.000 deep sky objects and the TYCHO2++ 4.5 million star database up to magnitude 12.5. After downloading the GSC 1.2 or the USNO UCAC4 it displays stars up to magnitude 16. The Sun, Moon, the planets and their major moons, bright asteroids and comets are all displayed with surface features. It comes with hundreds of DSS deep sky images which will blend in at the correct size and orientation. It has an integrated deep sky help file and 21 non-English menus.
    It can control almost any telescope using the ASCOM interface program.
